Nick qualified as a chartered accountant at a medium sized practice in London where he had extensive experience with individuals, sole traders and small and medium sized business. Taking pride in offering a personal service to his clients Nick was able to understand what his clients needed to grow their business quickly and efficiently. To broaden his experience he joined one of the big accountancy practices in the world, KPMG, spending 2 years in London and 2 in the USA. In 1992, he left practice for the world of industry joining a family owned food business. Initially coming in to strengthen the financial management side, as Finance Director he guided the business and its directors through business acquisitions, a management buyout, office relocations and systems implementations.
In 2003 following the successful sale of the business, he helped set up and run several small businesses in the retail sector. Nick discovered how difficlult it can be to balance serving the needs of sometimes demanding customers and run the business. Particularly when trying to find the right staff and deal with all the red tape and paperwork required of a modern business.
